First-time setup

Use the checklist that matches your role.

For chapter members

  1. Verify your email. If you signed up yourself, check your inbox for the verification link.
  2. Complete your profile. Open Members → Your profile (or the user menu → Profile) and fill in name, photo, hometown, major, graduation year. → Updating your profile
  3. Set notification preferences. Decide whether you want emails for new bulletins, approvals, dues reminders, etc. → Notifications
  4. Subscribe to forums you care about. Open Engage and tap the bell on each forum you want updates from.
  5. Pay any open dues. Billing shows your current balance. → Paying dues
  6. (Optional) Install the mobile app. Faster access to bulletins and approvals on your phone. → Mobile app

For chapter officers

Do the member checklist first, then:

  1. Review the Approvals queue. Clear out anything pending from before you took office. → Approvals queue
  2. Check chapter compliance status. Open Operations → Compliance and confirm you know what's due in the next 30 days. → Compliance submissions
  3. Confirm the next dues run. Check Billing and the org's dues schedule.
  4. Schedule any upcoming elections. Officer transition season is a common starting point. → Running an election
  5. Read the moderation rules. Know what's auto-flagged in your chapter's Engage forum. → Bulletins & moderation

For org / national admins

If you're brand new and the org was just created, work through these in order:

  1. Set branding. Logo, primary color, social accounts. → Branding
  2. Create regions if your org uses them. → Chapters and regions
  3. Create chapters and assign them to regions.
  4. Decide which modules to enable. Operations, Community, Documents, Learning, Foundation, Alumni, Messaging, AI Services, Data Export. → Module enablement
  5. Configure dues. Per-member amount, billing frequency, payment processor. → Dues & billing
  6. Set up custom fields for member profiles if needed. → Custom fields
  7. Add consent templates for legal/PII compliance. → Consent templates
  8. Configure storage (MinIO, AWS S3, or another S3-compatible provider). → Storage configuration
  9. Invite other org admins.Inviting admins
  10. Bulk-import existing members from a CSV. → Member CSV import

For platform admins

  1. Confirm email is configured before any signup emails go out. → Email config
  2. Create the first tenant organization.Create an organization
  3. Add at least one org admin to that tenant — they take over from there.
