Chapter officers
Your organization defines its officer positions — President, Treasurer, Recruitment Chair and so on — once for every chapter. Your chapter records who holds each one. Open Officers in the chapter sidebar.
What a position gives
Each position has a permission level set by your national admins. An Officer or President position gives the holder that role — and its access — while they hold it; a Title only position is a name and nothing more. Because positions change roles, you can assign and end Title only positions freely, but assigning or ending one that would change somebody’s role is up to a national admin: the platform tells you so instead of saving it. So is making officer access last longer: you can end an Officer- or President-level term sooner, but you can’t clear or push back its end date — on your own position or anyone else’s — or give a member an Officer- or President-level position that ends later than the access they already have. National admins can also pick a member’s position straight from the Role dropdown on the chapter roster — see Picking a position from the Role dropdown.
What you see
One card per position, showing the member(s) who hold it now and the date they started — or Vacant. Where a position has a seat limit, the card shows how many seats are filled (1 of 1). Positions are defined by your national admins; if the page says there are none yet, ask them to add some in Settings.
Assigning a position
- On the position’s card, click Assign [position].
- Search for the member by name or email and pick them.
- Set the start date (today by default). Add an end date and a term if you know them.
- Click Assign.
A member can hold more than one position. If the position’s seats are all filled the button reads All seats filled — end the current holder’s term first. The platform also refuses a PNM, a disaffiliated or transferred member, or someone who already holds that position, and tells you why.
If your national organization has assigned training to the position, the new holder is enrolled in it as soon as you assign them, and it appears in their My Learning. Ending their term later does not take that training away.
Ending a term
Click the calendar icon next to the holder, choose the end date and click End term. If the date is in the future, the member keeps the position through that date, then appears as a past holder. If it is today or earlier, the term ends immediately: the title, the seat and any officer access it gave go at once, and the seat can be given to someone else straight away. The record is kept — this is how officer history builds up across years.
Correcting a mistake
The bin icon next to a holder removes the entry entirely. Use it only for an assignment made in error. To record that someone’s term is over, end the term instead, so the history stays accurate.
